Project “Saavedra Scholarships”

History
Since 2000, Sociedad Católica San José has managed a donation from Mrs. María Josefa Saavedra, who has been a member of the institution for many years and who was the first woman to join the Board. The objective of these funds is to help low-income individuals and students linked to SCSJ access to vocational training so that after their studies they start working as qualified technicians and afterwards use their earnings to pay for their university studies and become professionals.
Beneficiaries
The people benefiting from the scholarships study half a day and at the same time they help out in the different areas in the Educational Centers. There is an internal regulation that describes the operation of this scholarship program which has so far benefited 75 young people.
